Manitobans Will Embrace A Bit Of Deficit Spending
Winnipeg - Manitobans will accept modest provincial deficits if it means additional investment in infrastructure, a new Probe Research survey finds.
Nearly three-quarters of Manitobans (73%) have no issue with the provincial government spending more than it takes in if it means that additional money will be spent on improvements to streets, roads and bridges. Manitobans are slightly more comfortable with dedicated deficit spending than the heads of companies operating in the province, as a recent Probe Research survey of 200 CEOs and business owners found that only 59 percent accept the idea of the government running deficits to spend on infrastructure.
