Rubber and the Road: Manitoba Motorists and Cross-Border Travel
Winnipeg,
MB -Despite the faltering Canadian dollar, one-half of
Manitoba adults took some type of trip by car to the U.S. in the past
year. These findings emerged from a representative
online survey of 816 Manitoba adults (and 421 cross-border motorists) taken by
Winnipeg-based Probe Research Inc. in late July 2015.
Other survey findings reveal Grand Forks and Fargo,
North Dakota as primary destinations for Manitoba visitors, a strong consensus
that U.S. retailers offer products simply not available in Canada and the
anticipation that they will curtail at least some of their future U.S. trips
due to the flagging Canadian currency exchange.
