Manitoba Political Party Standings Stabilize
Winnipeg
– The latest Probe Research Inc. survey results for the Winnipeg Free Press show
that Manitoba’s political scene has stabilized after nearly a year of
significant shifts in voter support for the main provincial parties.
With
43 percent of Manitoba voters (-3% versus June 2013) saying that they
would vote for the Progressive Conservatives, the Brian Pallister-led PCs
continue to enjoy a commanding lead over the Greg Selinger-led NDP, which has
the support of slightly less than three-in-ten decided voters (29%, +1% versus
June).
Meanwhile,
the Liberal Party – which is currently in the middle of a three-way leadership
contest – continues to build momentum and now have the support of one-in-five
decided voters (20%, +3% versus June and up by 13% over their 2011 election
performance). The Greens and other parties currently sit at eight percent
support (-2% versus June). Thirteen percent of all Manitoba adults are
undecided or refuse to say which party they would vote for in a hypothetical
provincial election.
