Political Preferences And Pride in Canada

Winnipeg – The level of patriotism expressed by Manitobans depends greatly on which political party they intend to support, a new Probe Research survey conducted for the Winnipeg Free Press reveals.
Manitobans who support the provincial New Democrats or Manitoba Liberals were more likely than Progressive Conservative party supporters to report that they are less proud of Canada as they were five years ago (39% and 29% respectively, versus just 15% of PC supporters who say they are no longer as proud of Canada as they were in the past). These PC party supporters, on the other hand, were more likely to report that they are just as proud of Canada today as they were five years ago (52%, versus 39% among NDP supporters and 38% among Liberal supporters).
