Manitobans Say Poor Fiscal Management At Root Of PST Hike
Winnipeg
– Nearly two-thirds of Manitoba adults (65%) believe the provincial government
did not need to raise the Provincial Sales Tax (PST), a new Probe Research
survey conducted for the Winnipeg Free
Press finds.
This
survey of 1,002 Manitoba adults also finds that a majority of Manitobans (58%) agree
that the decision to increase the PST is likely to have an impact on how they
vote in the next provincial election – with most saying the tax hike makes them
less likely to vote for the governing
New Democrats.
