Economy Still No. 1 Issue in Brandon, Westman
Brandon
– For the third year in a row, the economy is the main issue on the minds of
Western Manitobans, a new survey conducted by Probe Research for the Brandon Sun reveals.
Nearly
three-in-ten Westman residents said that economic growth and jobs are the main
issue facing their community (28%, up slightly from 25% in 2014). A slightly
smaller proportion of residents, meanwhile, say that the condition of
infrastructure in their community is the most important thing on their minds
(19%, compared to 20% last year). Health care is the other issue to round out
this list of “Top 3” top-of-mind concerns, with 17 percent stating that this is
the most important public issue on their radar (+1% versus 2014). Taxation is
also an important public issue, with 13 percent of residents (up from 5%) now
saying this is their main concern.
