Winnipeggers Will Line Up For NHL Hockey
Winnipeg - As the National Hockey League’s return to Winnipeg becomes the subject of intense speculation, more Winnipeggers are jumping onto the "bring-back-the-NHL" bandwagon, a new Probe Research poll conducted for the Winnipeg Free Press reveals.
The proportion of Winnipeg adults who are now in favour of repatriating the NHL to the Manitoba capital has increased to 61 percent – fully eight percentage points higher than the support level for an NHL team measured exactly one year ago. Meanwhile, the number of Winnipeggers who are opposed to their city icing a National Hockey League team dropped by 11 percentage points during the previous 12 months (from 37% in June 2009 to 26% in June 2010).
