Two-Thirds of Manitoba’s Business Community (65%) Wants Province To Join Western Economic Partnership Agreement
Winnipeg – A clear majority of Manitoba’s business leaders say the province is missing out on a major opportunity by remaining outside of an economic development pact that includes its western Canadian neighbours.
The results of the 2010 Manitoba Business Leaders Index show that the majority of business owners and executives within the province feel that the provincial government made a mistake by not signing the Western Economic Partnership Agreement with British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Nearly two-thirds (65%) say Manitoba was wrong not to join this agreement, compared to just 13 percent who say Manitoba did the right thing by not signing this pact with the other western provinces.
